TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF HIRE 2018
CONFIRMATION OF BOOKING
Bookings are confirmed via our online store following payment of the hire fee, shipping fee, and $150 refundable security bond. We require at least 48 hours of notice prior to the desired delivery time to prepare orders. China hire costs are calculated on a 48 hour basis.
DELIVERY DATE AND TIME
In the event that we are unable to deliver or collect your order at the requested time in our booking calendar, we will contact you to offer an earlier alternate delivery and/or later collection date/time. Should this earlier delivery and/or later collection date/time be inconvenient for you, we will offer to cancel your order and provide a 100% cancellation refund. However, should you accept the earlier delivery and/or later collection date/time offered at this point, our usual cancellation policy will apply henceforth. Should the earlier alternate delivery and/or later collection date/time we offer prolong the period of hire beyond the 48-hour pricing window selected in your initial booking, no additional charges will be incurred.
AVAILABILITY OF INVENTORY
In the event that we are unable to provide the requested inventory on the date/time requesting using our online booking system, we will contact you to offer alternative available products from our inventory. We strive to avoid such issues using online inventory management software, but occasionally stock may become damaged during the period after a booking has been made and prior to date of delivery. In such instances, should the alternative available products offered be unsuitable for your requirements, we will provide a 100% refund via PayPal for those unavailable items requested in your initial booking.
In the event of order cancellation by a hirer over 48 hours prior to the scheduled time of delivery, the hirer shall be liable to pay Cups and Saucers Vintage China Hire a cancellation charge of 50% of the total cost of china hire. In such instances, 50% of the china hire fee, 100% of the shipping fee and 100% of the security bond will be refunded to the hirer via PayPal.
Should notification of cancellation occur less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled time of delivery, the hirer shall be liable to pay Cups and Saucers Vintage China Hire a cancellation charge of 75% of the total cost of china hire. In such instances, 25% of the china hire fee, 100% of the shipping fee and 100% of the security bond will be refunded via PayPal.
A refundable bond of $150 will be required with the final payment to cover for the risk of lost or damaged goods. Security bonds are refunded via PayPal within 2 days of return of items, provided all items are returned in satisfactory condition.
Damage to items during use the period of hire is the responsibility of the hirer. If the items are returned broken, missing and/or otherwise damaged a replacement fee will be deducted from the bond. The cost of replacement will be $100 to replace teapots and three-tiered cake stands, $50 to replace platters, $50 to replace dinner/entree plates, $40 to replace teacups, milk jugs and sugar bowls, $20 to replace bread-and-butter plates, $15 to replace saucers, $30 to replace strainers, and $5 to replace teaspoons and cake forks.
If the items are not returned or ready for collection at the nominated time then a late fee will be deducted from the bond. Our quotes are based on a 48-hour period of hire, and charges for late return will be calculated on this basis.
If the cost of replacement of broken, damaged or lost items exceeds the $150 bond paid at the time of initial booking, then the hirer is liable to pay Cups and Saucers Vintage China Hire the balance. In such instances, a second invoice for replacement of damaged or lost goods will be provided to cover this balance separately.
DELIVERY AND PICK UP
Delivery and collection is available to Sydney and Central Coast addresses, for a flat $50 fee. Items will not be delivered via post.
Prior to hire, all items are inspected and hand washed, and then heat sanitized under boiling water for your convenience.
After use, the hirer should rinse and dry our items prior to replacing them into their linen packaging for return. Thorough cleaning is not required, as we clean and sanitize all items again immediately on their return. Hirers must not attempt to clean any of our wares in a dishwasher under any circumstances, as this will cause damage to its delicate gold detailing and tarnished silverware. We request that our linen packaging be returned dry, to avoid mildew.
EXCHANGE AND REFUND POLICY
The hirer is responsible for ensuring that items are suitable prior to delivery. Refunds and exchanges requested following delivery are issued at the discretion of management and are not guaranteed.
It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure upon receipt of the items that they are good working order and undamaged condition. An inventory of each order will be provided and should any discrepancy exist between the requested and delivered items, please advise Cups and Saucers Vintage China Hire as soon as possible. If any items are thought to be faulty or damaged, it is the hirer’s responsibility to contact Cups and Saucers Vintage China Hire prior to commencement of the event. Failure to do so, or notification only after use, will cause the hirer to be responsible for all replacement or restoration charges.
CONDITION AND USE OF ITEMS
The items on hire shall remain the absolute property of Cups and Saucers Vintage China Hire. The hirer shall not assign, transfer or otherwise part with possession of the items during the period of hire without the prior written consent of Cups and Saucers Vintage China Hire.
INDEMNITY AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
The hirer is responsible for the security of the items at all times during the hire period. Any lost, broken, damaged or destroyed items will be charged to the hirer.
Cups and Saucers Vintage China Hire accepts no responsibility for health or injuries sustained during the hire period of the items.
The hirer shall at all times fully indemnify Cups and Saucers Vintage China Hire against all actions, costs, claims, demands, proceedings or liabilities arising from or in connection with items and materials supplied for use.
